CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net/rds: don't let the rdma_cm destroy an id RDS still owns on route failure
rds_rdma_cm_event_handler_cmn() hands the return value of
rdma_resolve_route() straight back to the rdma_cm on
RDMA_CM_EVENT_ADDR_RESOLVED. A synchronous failure there - -ENOMEM
from the route work allocation, an SA query that cannot be set up, a
RoCE route with no usable device - makes addr_handler() destroy the
id the event was delivered on. That id is ic->i_cm_id, and nothing
clears the pointer: the connection sits in RDS_CONN_CONNECTING with a
freed id until its shutdown calls rdma_disconnect() and
rdma_destroy_id() on it.
The ROUTE_RESOLVED case already avoids this: rds_ib_cm_initiate_connect()
forces a zero return while ic->i_cm_id == cm_id, as the comment there
explains. Do the same here - drop the connection and return 0 - so
the id stays RDS's to destroy from the shutdown, and the reconnect
gets a fresh one. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
pipe: preserve existing fasync readers on writer setup failure
F_SETFL and FIOASYNC decide whether to invoke ->fasync() before
pipe_fasync() takes pipe->mutex. Two enables of one O_RDWR FIFO can
therefore both enter the callback.
fasync_helper() allocates before checking for an existing entry. If the
first enable installs both entries, a second enable can update the
reader entry and then fail the allocation for the writer entry. The
error path removes the pre-existing reader entry, clearing FASYNC while
the writer entry remains registered. __fput() then skips ->fasync(), so a
later pipe notification can dereference the freed file or its f_owner.
An unprivileged memory-pressure reproducer triggers a KASAN
slab-use-after-free in send_sigio() through this path.
Keep the reader helper's result and undo the registration only if this
call added it. The pipe mutex serializes changes to both lists, so a
failed new registration still removes its reader, while a failed
duplicate preserves the existing registrations and FASYNC. Successful
duplicate enables continue to update fa_fd as before. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
eventfs: Free the eventfs_inode after an rcu grace period too
tracefs_d_revalidate() reads ->is_freed of the eventfs_inode that
dentry->d_fsdata points to, and ->d_revalidate() is called in rcu
pathwalk mode with nothing but rcu_read_lock() held. The dentry itself
stays around for such a walker, but tracefs_d_release() drops its
reference to the eventfs_inode when the dentry is killed, and
release_ei() then frees it after a grace period of eventfs_srcu. An
SRCU grace period doesn't wait for rcu_read_lock() sections, so the
walker can read an eventfs_inode that is already gone.
With a pathwalk held up in tracefs_d_revalidate() while the dentry goes
away:

Before commit 8e556432477e ("eventfs: Use SRCU for freeing
eventfs_inodes") release_ei() used call_rcu(), which covered the walker,
while eventfs_iterate() needs the SRCU grace period. Wait for both and
chain call_rcu() from the SRCU callback. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/amdgpu: keep the eviction fence until the last handle is closed
amdgpu_gem_object_close() detaches the user queue eviction fence from
the BO before it checks bo_va->ref_count, so closing any handle of a BO
removes the fence, even when the file still has another handle to the
BO and the bo_va with its GPU mappings stays. The BO can then be evicted
without suspending the user queues of the file, which keep accessing it
through mappings that are only marked for update.
Seen on navi31 with a SDMA user queue: a BO opened twice in the same
file (GEM_FLINK + GEM_OPEN) loses its eviction fence when the second
handle is closed (traced attach/detach of the fence):
attach bo=ffff8c78a6c84c00
GEM_CLOSE handle=7
detach bo=ffff8c78a6c84c00
while handle 6 and the mapping are still in use.
Only detach the fence when the last reference to the bo_va goes away,
matching amdgpu_gem_object_open(), which attaches it only when the
bo_va is created. With this the fence stays until the file is closed.

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: bridge: mcast: don't truncate the port group walk on teardown
__br_multicast_disable_port_ctx() and br_multicast_del_port() walk
port->mglist with hlist_for_each_entry_safe(). However,
br_multicast_find_del_pg() can also delete other entries from the same
list through br_multicast_fwd_src_remove() or __fwd_del_star_excl().
If such an entry is the iterator's saved next node, hlist_del_init()
clears its ->next and terminates the walk early. The reproducer triggers
this in both teardown walks, leaving port groups in the bridge mdb with
a dangling ->key.port after del_nbp() frees the port:
BUG: KASAN: slab-use-after-free in __mdb_fill_info+0x1191/0x1320
__mdb_fill_info+0x1191/0x1320
br_mdb_dump+0x594/0xe40
rtnl_mdb_dump+0x1cf/0x5d0
Use hlist_del_init_rcu() to unlink the group while preserving ->next.
br_multicast_del_pg() and the teardown walks run under
br->multicast_lock. The GC worker must acquire the same lock before
detaching the group for destruction, so the node remains alive while
the walk uses the preserved pointer.
Preserving ->next means a walk can now reach a group that an earlier
iteration already deleted as a side effect. That group is off mp->ports,
so br_multicast_find_del_pg() would fall through its port scan and hit
the trailing WARN_ON(1). Skip such groups at the top of that helper: a
port group is put on port->mglist when it is created and only unlinked
when it is deleted, so hlist_unhashed() identifies exactly this case. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: psp: do not inherit the Rx association on clone
sk->psp_assoc sits past sk_dontcopy_end, so sock_copy() copies it into
every socket accepted from a listener without taking a reference, while
inet_sock_destruct() puts for every inet socket. psp_twsk_init() does
refcount_inc() for the timewait socket, so a child closing through
TIME_WAIT cancels its own put and leaves the association with one
reference and N timewait sockets holding the same pointer. Closing the
listener frees it, and the timewait timers then put freed memory.
Rejecting the association on a listening socket is not sufficient: a socket
can acquire one while established and then be turned back into a listener,
because tcp_disconnect() leaves sk->psp_assoc in place.

| Tesseract is an open source OCR engine. From 5.4.0 until 5.5.4, AppendLinePolygon in src/api/pagerenderer.cpp destroys the caller-owned right-to-left Pta accumulator while receiving it by value, leaving line_top_rtl_pts and line_bottom_rtl_pts dangling. On an upright Hebrew or Arabic page at the default PAGE XML level, POLYGONFLAG with a false skewed_flag enters the vulnerable calls, while LEVELFLAG greater than zero provides an alternative gate. The calls repeatedly read and free the stale object, causing a double free and use after free and allowing corrupted coordinates to reach RecalcPolygonline. This issue is fixed in version 5.5.4. |
| SQLite before 3.54.0 contains a use-after-free vulnerability in the R-Tree extension that allows attackers to make applications use freed heap memory by manipulating the %_node shadow table. Attackers can supply a database declaring %_node WITHOUT ROWID or with a RAISE(IGNORE) trigger so nodeWrite() hashes nodes as 0, crashing the process after node splits. |
| odhcpd is the DHCPv6, DHCPv4, and router-advertisement server used by OpenWrt. Prior to version 25.12, odhcpd's DHCPv6 IA handler keeps a per-message `first` lease pointer so multiple IA options in one message reuse the same Reconfigure authentication key. A DHCPv6 REQUEST from an adjacent-network client can make the first IA set `first`, then make a later same-IAID IA fail the on-link check and free that same lease, leaving `first` dangling. A following IA in the same packet allocates a new lease and copies `first->key`, producing a 16-byte heap-use-after-free read. ASan confirms the UAF; native tracing shows the packet shape can deterministically reclaim the freed lease as the destination allocation, producing a zeroed Reconfigure key copy. The validated impact is unauthenticated adjacent-network denial of service and DHCPv6 Reconfigure/ForceRenew key confusion. Arbitrary PC control is not proven for this UAF alone. This issue has been patched in version 25.12. |

[ 132.495484] ------------[ cut here ]------------
[ 132.497609] kernel BUG at net/core/dev.c:12376!
Commit 61220ab34948 ("vti6: Enable namespace changing") dropped
NETIF_F_NETNS_LOCAL from vti6 devices. A vti6 tunnel can then
move through IFLA_NET_NS_FD. After the move dev_net(dev) points
at the new netns while t->net stays at the creation netns.
vti6_changelink() and vti6_update() still use dev_net(dev) and
dev_net(t->dev). They unlink from one per netns hash and relink
into another. The creation netns is left with a stale entry.
cleanup_net() of that netns later walks freed memory.
Reachable from an unprivileged user namespace (unshare --user
--map-root-user --net). Cross tenant scope on container hosts. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ipv4: free inet_opt and ireq_opt after an RCU grace period
tcp_v4_syn_recv_sock() transfers ownership of ireq->ireq_opt to the
child socket (newinet->inet_opt) without copying it.
Another cpu can concurrently process a retransmitted SYN for the same
request socket, and send a SYNACK from tcp_check_req().
tcp_v4_send_synack() and inet_csk_route_req() read ireq->ireq_opt
under rcu_read_lock() only, and ip_build_and_send_pkt() and
ip_options_build() then read opt->optlen twice.
Note that the SYNACK timer itself is not an issue: it holds a
reference on its request socket, and inet_csk_reqsk_queue_drop()
calls timer_delete_sync() before the child can be freed.
Since commit 079096f103fa ("tcp/dccp: install syn_recv requests
into ehash table"), request sockets are processed without holding
the listener lock, so nothing prevents the child socket from being
freed while the SYNACK is still being built. TCP child sockets do
not have SOCK_RCU_FREE, and inet_sock_destruct() frees inet_opt
with a plain kfree(), leading to a use-after-free in
ip_options_build().
A similar issue exists with request socket migration
(net.ipv4.tcp_migrate_req=1, or a BPF_SK_REUSEPORT_SELECT_OR_MIGRATE
program). reqsk_timer_handler() clones the request socket with
inet_reqsk_clone(), so that the old request socket and its clone
share the same ireq_opt, then reqsk_migrate_reset() clears the
pointer in the old one. Another cpu holding a reference on the old
request socket can still be using these options (sending a SYNACK,
or creating a child in tcp_v4_syn_recv_sock()) when the clone is
freed, and tcp_v4_reqsk_destructor() also uses a plain kfree().
Readers already use RCU, and other paths replacing inet_opt
(do_ip_setsockopt(), cipso_v4_sock_setattr()...) already use
kfree_rcu(). Use kfree_rcu() in inet_sock_destruct() and
tcp_v4_reqsk_destructor() as well.
IPv6 is not affected by the first issue, because tcp_v6_syn_recv_sock()
duplicates the options. tcp_v6_reqsk_destructor() has the same
migration issue with ipv6_opt, which is only set by CALIPSO. This
will be addressed in a separate patch. |
